Gather Your Thoughts

Scrivener is a tool for writers (Shareware with a fully functional 30 day trial, and great value at $35). With it, you create writing projects and within those projects you create folders and pages. You can add notes, links and labels to any of the folders and pages.

You can view the folders as if they were cork boards; on the cork boards, the pages are represented as index cards. Drag the cards about to re-arrange them and you're re-arranging the pages within the master document.

Select several pages and edit them as if they were one file. In short—use this app which ever way suits you.

When you're happy with the resulting project you can export it in several different ways, as a weblog post, a chapter for a book—whatever.

The app is constantly auto-saving so you can easily quit at any time.

When you're hammering away writing within a project, you can jump out to a beautifully rendered fullscreen mode that darkens everything else except the page. The darkening effect is fully adjustable.

I haven't mentioned the split screen mode, or how you can drop clippings, or the auto-correcting of sentence case, or a dozen other sweet features. Download it yourself and enjoy this superb application.
