Produce a Super-Song

Join Together is a polished front-end for a group of components that are probably already installed on your Mac (iTunes, Quicktime and ChapterTool).

It makes it incredibly easy to take a selection of songs, or a playlist, or an inserted CD; and join them to form one bookmarked super-track.

Why is this useful? You may have ripped a CD from a talking book. Instead of it appearing as 25 separate files (and having to remember where you were within those files when going back to it) you end up with one giant track that you can step through — a track that you can leave and return to to listen some more, where you left off.

The only real caveat: this only works with non-purchased music.

Once you choose the tracks and name the output file, the rest of the process is entirely automatic; the screen may fill with progress windows as the various components build the file, but the whole caboodle tidies up after itself seamlessly.
