Graphic Artist in a Box

Who would have thought there was such a thing as a good taste algorithm?
Certainly not me.
I suffer from a slight color blindness, combined with almost no artistic talent. When I design a webpage (such as this one), by far the hardest stage is choosing the colors; agonizing days of squinting, sitting up close and then further away, going for a walk and coming back... Trying to come up with four or five colors that don't overpower each other — and don't in any way look garish (I hope!)
But now. Now I've found iPick. It's a panel with two tabs; in the first one you choose five colors yourself by clicking on the swatches and sliding about on the Mac color wheel — then you can select and copy the generated hex code. All fine and good, if you have the underlying talent.

The second tab is the Theme Generator, where you create (or steal, using the magnifying glass) a primary color, and iPick generates six further, beautifully complimentary colors for you.
Every time a charm. How does he do it?
Stand by for yet another Mac Tips site revamp...
