ExifRenamer takes the image files from your camera and renames them. It replaces the cryptic names that the camera assigns with new names based in the exact time that each photo was taken. It gets this information from the file's EXIF data—hence the name.

Before Processing

The exact style of the renaming process can be set up in the Preferences, after that the whole process is automatic. Just drop the files onto the dock item and you'll be asked for a descriptive suffix for the destination folder's name.

ExifRenamer then creates a new folder with today's date and the descriptive suffix as its name, renames the images, and stores them in that folder.

After Processing

Now your folders are listed by date, and your pictures are stored by when they were shot. You can even store images from several picture taking sessions together in one folder without worrying about duplicate names, as no two images could have possibly been taken at the same moment.
