Power, Without the Clutter

AcidSearch is an unobtrusive, yet powerful add-on for the Safari web browser. The most obvious effect that it has is to add more options to the search field found in the toolbar. By clicking on the magnifying glass you can choose from several pre-packaged search options. The name of the last search engine you used remains in the window as a reminder of where your next search will lead if you don't change any options.

AcidSearch also appears in your context menu when you select text. You can add or delete search engines via the preferences; you can even assign keyboard shortcuts for them.

Another well implemented feature is Find As You Type. Just begin to type a word when the focus is on the page itself and the word contained within the page will be highlighted, as well as the toolbar seen below. It includes Previous and Next buttons, and automatically disappears after a short delay.
