The beautiful icon was the first thing that caught my eye. Then I grew to appreciate just how clean and simple NewsMac is to use.
There are other news readers that are so pretty to look at that it can be a pain just navigating within them or knowing what's been updated and what hasn't.
Once I'd settled on a dozen or so feeds that I wanted to regularly read, I had them appear in the Favorites drawer...

...and hid the more complex navigation table by sliding it out of the way. Click below to see how I normally have it set up (Albeit squashed to fit on this screen size).
There is a Pro version that you can upgrade to—and pay for, but I can't imagine needing any more features than there are now.
